The Nordic portfolio” bridging school to work place – with a view to lifelong learning

To make an e-portfolio is a process: Collection – reflection – selection – presentation. When this process starts at school, it is a tool for assessment as well as a tool for empowering the student to be aware of her competences and knowledge. Moreover, the e-portfolio becomes a documentation and presentation of the student that could be applied during the entire life, motivating lifelong learning.

How to improve the communication in the area between the learner/applicant and the company? E-portfolio might be a good tool of communication.
E-portfolio-software: Both commercial and free softwares are available.

There is need of dialogue between universities/schools and companies to find a good way of communication to ensure optimal appointments and a good way of bridging school and work life.

Thanks a lot for your comment! I enjoy reading about your passportfolio. I think I attended a presentation of passportfolio in Berlin last December? Or in Oxford e-portfolio conference last October?

Hi, here in Nottinghamshire, we have developed our own e-portfolio to support young people in their progression from school into further learning and work. It is closely tied into the Personal Development Curriculum and our new 14-19 curriculum, just being introduced into schools in 07/08. Young people are facing a major shift in the way they will learn and it has massive implications for their guidance and support.
