Institutes of Higher Education in the Nordic countries have been using Information and Communication Technologies to support teaching and learning for some years. In Iceland f.ex. out of necessity - because of the physical distance between potential learners and the Universities. During this one day conference we want to consider what has been achieved, in which way our endeavours have changed teaching and learning in higher education.
Speakers represent five Nordic countries and different opinions about how the use of technology support affects adult learning in higher education. The symposium language is English.

We will discuss issues like what have we achieved, Has ICT support made student learning any better?, Is the teaching better, What about research: Has ICT support really made Universities and other institutes of higher education better? Where do we want to go from here? What impact have ideas such as Open Source and Open Content had any impact on universities, our ideas about science, learning studies or academia?
