An example of FWBL from a Danish Company implementing Lean

(Anne Mette McAloone) The presentation shows how companies may use the Adult Vocational Training Programmes ("arbejdsmarkedsuddannelser" or "AMU") in a long-term company strategy, with a focus on implementing Lean. Focus is on how the use of e-learning, as a supplement to traditional training, allows periodic training for both new and current employees, ensuring that all employees receive exactly the same training.

Abstract from session moderator:

Adult Vocational Training Program, AMU the courses are on demand and based on company needs. An example of FWBL was presented, the course and the structure to successfully implement LEAN, focusing on training current and new employees all receive the same training, and e-learning is a supplement and different methods are involved, theoretical knowledge, practical training, discussion, group work and it is both on/off job but it ended with a certificate. The main benefits include improve projects, implement ideas increasing effectiveness and saving money. But also the fact that the workplace is turned into a learning place while communicating company strategy and goals. Lean CD-ROM was presented and handed out.
