Anne Fox, an English teacher, describes how she has used various Web 2.0 tools in language teaching. The tools include:
- RSS aggregators to know when new material has been added to favorite blogs, podcasts, news pages and so on.
- Podcasts to encourage students to exercise oral skills
- Blogs to enable students to discuss topics with outsiders.
- Audio and text chat to enable students to discuss topics with external guests live.
- Distance role play involving email accounts, sound files and mobile phone messaging.
She introduces the VITAE project which aims to pilot train the trainer courses to integrate such tools in everyday teaching.
